Top 12 Fight Scenes of 2025

Just like last year, this is gonna be an unexplained and unranked listing of my 12 favorite fight scenes of 2025. Usual rules apply in terms of media that have been officially released this year or have had limited theatrical releases in film festivals or specific countries/regions in prior years but have just become accessible globally through streaming or other random internet sources. I live in the U.S. so that means my list will always be more based on what’s available in the western hemisphere. I just didn’t have the energy to write this out fully and I could certainly write it out less eloquently and more casually than I’d ideally want but I personally wouldn’t be satisfied with the final product. So it seemed better to leave it as an unanalyzed list than a true listicle. I never really got a whole lot of input on these anyways so I don’t think the analysis really gave much to anyone besides those who enjoyed silently reading its needlessly long passages and providing me a much needed creative outlet. Maybe next year I’ll get back into writing. Or the next. Who knows. I gotta admit though that I feel as though this year wasn’t as innovative in the action department as previous years despite all the unarguably great fight filmmaking that’s come out. But I might just not be fully appreciating what we have. Please tell me if you think I’m completely wrong. I’d love to get an alternative perspective. The 2025 Indie Fight Scene Compilation is still coming out though so I’m not completely retired. And a little something special in February like last year so at least hold your breath for that too before you give up on me entirely lol
Otherwise if you wanna talk about any of the fight scene(s) I’ve included or excluded feel free to do so whether by commenting or even messaging me personally. If you send me a message through the website I’ll have to respond to you directly through email as for some reason Wix doesn’t send my replies properly and they get lost in the online ether. If you wanna talk about anything martial arts action related or a variety of other topics I’ve been sort of spamming Eric Jacobus’ The Stunt People Discord server from time to time so join me on there?
